Whether it’s hiking, canoeing, or just taking a stroll, CNC has something for everyone. With 127 acres on the Chattahoochee River, the possibilities for fun with nature are infinite! Learn all about your backyard with the only Nature Exchange in the Southeast, or explore the birds of prey in the aviaries of the Wildlife Walk. Bring the family, have a picnic, and make a day of it!

Admission, Reservations & Hours

General admission: $20 Adults | $16 Seniors (Ages 65+) & Students (Ages 13-18) | $14 Children (Ages 3-12) | Children 2 & under are free

Member reservations are required for special events, Family Fun Days, and Sunset Sips. Group Rates are available for groups of 15 or more with advance reservations.

Pets are not permitted on the property, with the exception of service animals. CNC is open rain or shine. CNC is a smoke-free facility. Bike parking is available, but bikes are not allowed on the property.

If you arrive after 4:30PM, you are welcome to browse the upper level of the Discovery Center, but return another day to experience the exhibits, Wildlife Walk, and grounds.

Know before you go

Children under the age of 16 must be always accompanied by an adult. Unaccompanied children under 16 will not be granted admission to CNC. CNC is not responsible for supervising children during their visits. Pets are not permitted on the property, with the exception of service animals. CNC is open rain or shine. CNC is a smoke-free facility. Bike parking is available, but bikes are not allowed on the property. Parking at CNC is free for visitors.

Trails

Six wooded hiking trails including ADA-compliant River Boardwalk Trail cover beautiful Georgia Piedmont forest and can easily make visitors feel that they are far away from the city. All trails feature an abundance of plant and wildlife, year-round birding, and are perfect for beginners and experienced hikers.

Canoeing

When you canoe with CNC, your naturalist will enlighten you on the cultural and natural history of the river. You’ll learn about important ecological relationships and environmental issues that affect this endangered river, while enjoying its peaceful qualities.

Wildlife

The Wildlife Department at the Chattahoochee Nature Center focuses on education and rehabilitation. Dozens of species of native Georgia raptors and reptiles call CNC home.

Horticulture

CNC is proud to be involved with the protection, restoration and safeguarding of the many rare and endangered plant species of Georgia. Whether your interest is in gardening, horticulture, education, or science, CNC will keep you engaged with nature.

Discovery Center

Step into the world of our watershed in CNC’s premier exhibit – Explore Your Watershed, These exciting exhibits transport you to the home of the plants and animals of the Chattahoochee River Watershed. You’ll also want to check out The Nature Exchange – THE place to indulge your natural curiosity.
