Master Naturalist Certification Class

Dates:

  • Beginning Thursday August 5th and continuing once a month through April 2011, First Thursday of the month.
  • We will continue to offer this class 4 times each year.
  • If the upcoming class does not fit into your schedule please contact us for upcoming dates.

Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm each day

Cost: $240 non-members/$210 members – this includes a comprehensive manual and a local Field Guide

Supplies: Bring your own lunch.  Drinks, snacks, notebooks and pens will be provided

Pre-registration is required.  This program requires a minimum of 10 participants 2 weeks before the first class.  The capacity for this class is 20 students.  Please do not wait until the last minute to register.    This program is for ages 16 – Adult

Description: The Georgia Master Naturalist program, a joint program with the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and the Cooperative Extension Service, is a hands-on environmental education program that explores habitats and ecosystems in Georgia. This program is a combination of lectures and hands-on learning through outdoor field studies and relevant resource materials. At times, travel to and from off-site locations will be necessary. After completing this fun and interactive program, the Georgia Master Naturalists are encouraged to share their knowledge with their communities by volunteering in local schools or nature centers.

The Georgia Master Naturalist program is a hands-on environmental education program that explores habitats and ecosystems in Georgia. Once you have become a Master Naturalist, there is still so much more to learn!! The Chattahoochee Nature Center has designed a program with new topics, new field trips and new educators to continue your educational journey. This program is combination of lectures and outside hands-on learning through field studies and relevant resource materials.
